AI News: Industry Moves, Models and What They Cost Business

Artificial intelligence coverage splits into two unhelpful extremes: breathless capability demos, and predictions about employment a decade out. Neither helps somebody deciding what to do this quarter.

What we track here is the middle ground — where the money is actually going, which capabilities have moved from demo to dependable, what regulators are doing, and where the cost curve sits. Infrastructure spending is a useful signal because it is expensive and slow to reverse, which makes it a better indicator of conviction than announcements.

For small businesses the practical question is narrower than the discourse suggests: which repetitive task is now cheap enough to automate, and what does it cost when it gets something wrong.
