Plumber Invoice Template
Plumbing service invoice with callout, labor, materials. Example: Emergency callout $150 + 2hrs labor $180 + parts $95.
What a plumbing invoice should show
- Your plumbing licence number, where your state requires it on documents
- The site address, separately from the billing address
- Call-out fee, labour hours and rate, and after-hours loading if it applied
- Materials listed individually rather than as a single “parts” figure
- The fault found and the work done to fix it
- Any compliance or completion certificate issued, and its number
- Your ABN, GST shown separately, and payment terms
Emergency work and the price nobody remembers agreeing
Plumbing is frequently bought in a hurry, over the phone, by someone standing in water. That is exactly the conversation that gets remembered differently a week later. Confirming the call-out fee and hourly rate by text before you leave costs nothing and removes most of the disputes this trade generates.
- Confirm the call-out and rate in writing before attending, even at 2am
- Separate the make-safe from the permanent repair — they are often approved by different people
- Photograph concealed pipework before it is covered
Working for agents and landlords
- Confirm who authorises the spend and up to what limit before you start
- Invoice the agent where they engaged you, not the tenant who let you in
- Note tenant-caused damage at the time, because it changes who pays
