✉️ Email Template
Welcome Email Template
New customer welcome with next steps. Example: 'Welcome to [Business]! Here's how to get started...'
What a welcome email should cover
- Confirmation of what they have signed up for
- The single most useful first action, and how long it takes
- What to expect next, and how often you will be in touch
- Where to get help, with a real contact
- Anything time-sensitive, such as an onboarding window or a trial end date
- A one-click unsubscribe, present and working
One action beats a tour
Welcome emails that list ten features get skimmed and closed. The ones that work name a single first step that delivers something visible — the first invoice sent, the first contact imported, the first report run — because a customer who has done one useful thing is a customer who comes back. Everything else can be a later email.
- Pick the action that correlates with people sticking around, and make that the whole email
- Set the cadence explicitly; people who know what is coming unsubscribe less
- Send it immediately — a welcome that arrives a day later has missed the moment
Australian commercial email rules
- Under the Spam Act 2003 you need consent, accurate sender identification, and a functional unsubscribe on commercial messages
- Honour unsubscribes promptly — the Act sets a short deadline and it is enforced
- Keep evidence of how and when consent was given for each address on the list
