Kanban Board & Task Tracker

Drag cards between columns to move work along. Everything saves to your browser — no signup, no card limits, nothing uploaded.

A kanban board that opens instantly

Kanban is simple: every piece of work is a card, every card sits in a column, and you move cards left to right as the work progresses. Seeing the whole board at once tells you what is stuck, what is nearly done, and whether you have taken on too much at once. This board gives you that without an account, a subscription, or your task list living on someone else's server.

Drag and drop

Move cards between columns by dragging. On a phone, each card has move buttons instead, so it works without a mouse.

Priorities and due dates

Colour-coded priority stripes and due-date chips that turn red the moment a task is overdue.

WIP limits

Set a work-in-progress limit per column. The counter turns red when you exceed it, which is the whole point of kanban.

Private by default

Your board is saved in your browser's local storage. Nothing is uploaded, so no one else can see your work.

How to use a kanban board effectively

  1. Put everything in Backlog first. Capture the work before you sort it. A task you never wrote down is a task you will forget.
  2. Only pull into To Do what you will genuinely start. Kanban works by pulling work forward, not pushing it.
  3. Set a WIP limit on In Progress. Three is a sensible starting point for one person. If you are constantly over it, you are starting more than you can finish.
  4. Watch where cards pile up. A column that keeps filling is your bottleneck — that is the thing to fix, not the columns either side of it.
  5. Clear Done regularly. Finished work should leave the board so the board keeps showing you the present, not the past.

Frequently asked questions

Is this kanban board really free?

Yes. There is no signup, no account, no card limit and no paid tier. The board runs entirely in your browser and every feature is available immediately.

Where is my board stored?

In your browser's local storage on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so your tasks are private to you. Clearing your browser data will remove the board, so use the CSV export if you want a backup.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once the page has loaded you can keep adding and moving cards with no internet connection. BizziKit is a Progressive Web App, so you can install it to your home screen for offline use.

Can I use it on a phone?

Yes. On small screens the columns stack vertically, and every card has move buttons so you can shift tasks between columns without needing to drag.

What is a WIP limit?

A work-in-progress limit caps how many cards a column should hold at once. It is the core discipline of kanban: it stops you starting more work than you can finish and makes bottlenecks visible. Set one per column and the count turns red when you exceed it.

How is this different from Trello?

Trello is a full team platform with accounts, integrations and paid tiers. This is a single personal board that needs no signup and keeps your data on your device. If you need multi-user collaboration you will want a hosted tool; if you want a private board that opens instantly, this is simpler.
