Your BAS dates

PeriodCoversDueFrom today
These are the published schedule, not advice about your business. Your own dates can differ — the ATO can vary a reporting cycle, and different obligations apply to different registrations. Where a due date falls on a weekend or a national public holiday, the ATO allows lodgement and payment on the next business day; this page applies the weekend shift and shows it. Dates checked on 16 September 2026 against published secondary sources, since a browser tool cannot read your ATO account. Confirm yours in ATO Online Services or with your agent.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is my BAS due?

For quarterly reporting the standard dates are the 28th of the month after the quarter ends, except the October–December quarter which is due 28 February. Monthly reporting is due on the 21st of the following month. Where a date falls on a weekend the ATO allows the next business day. Your own dates can differ, so confirm them in ATO Online Services.

Do I get extra time if a tax agent lodges for me?

Generally yes for three of the four quarters, where the statement is lodged electronically through the agent and the previous one was too. The October–December quarter attracts no agent extension. A first statement, or one following a paper lodgement, can fall on the standard date.

What happens if a BAS due date falls on a weekend?

The ATO allows you to lodge and pay on the next business day. This page applies that shift and tells you when it has moved a date. It does not adjust for state public holidays, which vary.

Can I lodge my BAS from this page?

No, and no browser-only tool can. Lodgement goes through ATO Online Services, the Business Portal or a registered agent, over a channel that requires ATO certification. This page is a calendar, not a lodgement channel.

What is the difference between monthly and quarterly BAS?

It is mostly about turnover. Businesses over the ATO’s threshold report monthly; most smaller businesses report quarterly, and some very small ones report annually. The ATO tells you which cycle applies and can change it.

Does the calendar file set reminders?

Yes. The .ics download includes an alarm seven days before each due date, so your calendar app prompts you with a week to go. It is a plain calendar file — nothing is sent anywhere.
