What's New in the BizziKit Dashboard
Task Timer with Billable Hours Tracking
Time Management & Billing
Our new task timer makes it easy to track exactly how much time you spend on each project or client. Simply name your task, select an hourly rate (if billing), and hit start. The timer runs in the background while you work, calculating your billable amount in real-time.
Key features:
- Start, pause, stop, and reset controls for flexible time tracking
- Pre-set hourly rates from $25 to $200/hour (or track without billing)
- Live billable amount display as you work
- Time entry history with task names, durations, and earnings
- All data saved locally for privacy
Enhanced Calendar with Events, Tasks & Appointments
Scheduling & Organization
The calendar now supports three distinct types of entries, each with their own purpose and visual styling:
- Events: General calendar entries for meetings, deadlines, and important dates
- Tasks: Actionable items with priority levels (low, medium, high) to track your to-do list
- Appointments: Scheduled meetings with support for end times and duration tracking
The new quick-add bar at the top of the calendar lets you add entries in seconds without opening a modal. Just select the type, enter a title and date, and click Add.
Profile Management Page
Personalization & Settings
The new profile page lets you save your personal and business details for a customized experience. Information you can store includes:
- Name and contact details
- Business name, role, and industry
- Business size and address
- Preferred currency and timezone
- Default hourly rate for the timer
Your profile also shows activity stats and includes data management options to export or clear your data.
How to Use the Task Timer for Client Billing
Accurate time tracking is essential for service-based businesses. Here's how to get the most out of the new timer:
- Name your task: Enter what you're working on (e.g., "Website redesign for Acme Corp")
- Set your rate: Choose from preset hourly rates or select "No billing" for internal work
- Start the timer: Click the green play button to begin tracking
- Work on your task: The timer runs in the background - you can navigate to other tools
- Pause if needed: Take a break without losing your progress
- Stop and save: Click the red stop button to save your time entry
Getting the Most from the Enhanced Calendar
The calendar is now more powerful than ever. Here's how to use each entry type effectively:
Events - For Important Dates
Use events for deadlines, launches, important meetings, and anything that needs to happen on a specific date. Events appear with a blue indicator and are great for time-sensitive items you need to track.
Tasks - For Your To-Do List
Tasks are action items that need to get done. The priority system helps you focus on what matters most:
- High priority: Critical items that need immediate attention
- Medium priority: Important but not urgent tasks
- Low priority: Nice-to-do items when you have extra time
Appointments - For Scheduled Meetings
Appointments are perfect for client meetings, calls, and scheduled commitments. They support end times so you can see exactly how long each appointment will take and avoid double-booking.
Your Data, Your Privacy
All BizziKit dashboard data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This means:
- Complete privacy: Your data never leaves your device
- No account required: Start using immediately without sign-up
- Works offline: Access your dashboard even without internet
- Easy export: Download all your data as a JSON backup anytime
The profile page includes a data management section where you can export all your data for backup or clear everything if you want to start fresh. We recommend regular exports to protect your important business information.
Cross-Tool Integration
The dashboard serves as your BizziKit command center. Activity from any tool you use is tracked and displayed in your activity feed. This includes:
- Tool sessions showing which features you've used
- Calendar events and tasks you've created
- Time entries from the task timer
- Notes you've added for quick reference
This unified view helps you understand how you're spending your time across all BizziKit tools and ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
Navigation Improvements
To make the dashboard more accessible, we've added a Dashboard link to the navigation bar across all BizziKit tools. You're always just one click away from your personal workspace, no matter which tool you're using.
The streamlined navigation makes it easy to switch between tools and your dashboard, creating a seamless workflow for your daily business operations.
